Launched in 2015 with support from the American Heart Association and Easton Hospital, the Teaching Garden at Wilson Area Intermediate School is a hands-on, science-based learning initiative. The garden was expanded in 2016 thanks to a grant from the Walmart Foundation and the National Farm to School Network.
Coordinated with the 5th-grade science curriculum, students learn to plant, grow, harvest, and taste fresh vegetables, building knowledge in nutrition, plant biology, and sustainable agriculture.
LINCS currently partners with staff from The Kellyn Foundation to provide this alternate learning space for Wilson students. Programming is funded by a grant from the Two Rivers Health and Wellness Foundation.
🌱 A living classroom promoting science, health, and environmental stewardship.
